For forty-five years, pianist/composer ARMEN DONELIAN has distinguished himself in 25 countries as a performer, recording artist, educator and author. Armen’s music reflects a distinctive blend of influences including his Armenian origin, his Classical technique and his association with some of the biggest names in Jazz including Sonny Rollins, Billy Harper, Mongo Santamaria, Chet Baker, Paquito D’Rivera, David Liebman, Sheila Jordan, Jackie Paris and Night Ark. And, he achieves this fusion “In such a natural way that one can tell it’s a master’s work” (Metronom Magazine, Istanbul, 1986).

Armen Donelian is the leader of the Armen Donelian Trio with David Clark and George Schuller, co-founder of the Hudson Jazz Workshop with Marc Mommaas (in its 14th year), Curator of the Hudson Jazz Festival (in its 3rd year), a Fulbright Senior Scholar and Specialist, a six-time NEA Jazz Performance Fellow and for 34 years an Associate Adjunct Professor in the New School Jazz and Contemporary Music Program (NYC).
