Pianist Armen Donelian and saxophonist Marc Mommaas, two of today's leading practitioners of duo playing, offer the 11th Annual Hudson Jazz Workshop on August 10–13, 2017, featuring Special Guest guitarist Freddie Bryant. Past Guests have included Jazz luminaries including bassist Reggie Workman, vocalist Sheila Jordan (NEA Jazz Master), saxophonist David Liebman (Founder, IASJ), pianist/arranger Jim McNeely (Vanguard Orchestra), guitarist Vic Juris, vibraphonist Joe Locke, trumpeter Claudio Roditi and trombonist Chris Washburn (Founder, Columbia University Jazz Program), many pictured below.
The Hudson Jazz Workshop is a weekend immersion in Jazz improvisation and composition in a supportive and focused atmosphere conducive to intensive study and mutual encouragement, through individual and group instruction, jam sessions and a faculty/student concert.
Hudson Jazzworks, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit tax exempt organization located in Hudson, NY. We seek additional corporate and private funding to enable us to plan and implement new programs, maintain and expand our Scholarship Fund and reduce our Workshop tuition fee for highly qualified applicants in financial need. We invite you to join us in this mission by making a tax-deductible donation or becoming a member.
